Tirana food & communism history Tour

The guide will come and take you to the hotel and the tour starts from the center of Tirana.

First, we will stop at Scanderbeg Square where we will visit the National History Museum, the Opera House and then continue to visit and learn the fascinating stories of the National Hero of Skanderbeg, visit the Etemhem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower.

A few meters away from Scanderbeg Square is the underground bunker Bunkart 2, turned into a museum telling the fascinating stories of communist times. We will see traces of communism again on the entry of the Block where there is symbolically a war bunker, part of the holders of the infamous Spac mine and part of the Berlin Wall (Gifts from the German government). Inside the block area, we will also see dictator Enver Hoxha’s house, without having the opportunity to visit inside as it is not open to the public and continue our visit to another very interesting museum: the Hause of Leaves, a building where at the time of communism served as the main place where the state intelligence service spied on its citizens.

After visiting the communist sites, it’s time for the Lunch. We will taste the best-grilled food in Tirana.
