Is Albania safe?
This is the question that pops out in the mind of anyone who has just heard of this small country in the middle of Europe.
Albania is a Parliamentary Democracy. It is growing rapidly in the economy and it’s considered like most European countries as very safe for residents and tourists.
Having been for 50 years in isolation because of the fierce dictatorship of Enver Hoxha has resulted certainly in loss of popularity compared to other beautiful touristic mainstream attractions.
Going to Albania in holidays because of so little information and misinformation around is surely a risky decision.
But as with everything in life: High risk is rewarded with a high reward!
So let’s begin with a little crucial information you should know:
- Albania’s currency is Albanian Lek (ALL).
- Its National hero is Skanderbeg. Which is considered as one of the greatest war strategist of all time (Note: A defending one not an invading one!)
